About the Role
The Estimator provides detailed cost estimates for a variety of projects for tender and construction management. These estimates will include; interpreting and determining project scope, comprehensive and detailed costing of equipment and material requirements, schedule recommendations to achieve an acceptable margin and providing the best opportunity to secure the business.
Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prelim Design
Work with various departments to develop quotations and project proposals
Work with Engineering to provide excellent technical support to clients
Review bid documents and drawings to determine specifications and record scope of work
Determine availability and feasibility equipment, tooling and manpower
Project Estimating
Create project work plans for estimates
Keep sales up to date with estimate status for communication to the client
Conduct cost analysis during and at completion of projects and
Facilitate the automation and further integration of the costing system for all projects
Hand-Off to Sales
Update customer profiles, contacts, and master records in systems.
Enlist appropriate level of review for all estimates.
Prepare professional proposals (ie. RFPs and RFQ packages)
Ensure bid documents are complete and stored appropriately.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or commerce
Preference will be given to professional members of APEGA
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Technically proficient in Microsoft Project/Primavera software
1-3 years of estimating experience preferred
