About the Role
The role of the Pump Operator is to set-up, maintain and operate a concrete pump to assist the CFA Rig Operator in the completion of continuous flight auger (CFA) and cast in place concrete pile installation projects from beginning to end, ensuring all customer requirements are met. The Pump Operator reports directly to the Operator to assure standards of safety and quality are consistently met and exceeded.
Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Operating Foreman to pump concrete into excavations and install concrete reinforcement baskets into the ground to provide support for buildings and other structures
Operate static concrete pump to regulate the pressure, movement and flow of concrete
Inspect and manually attach hoses from concrete pump to CFA rig ensuring hoses are not worn, frayed or kinked
Verify proper cleanout equipment is available, clean equipment and work area daily
Monitor and record temperature and pressure gauges continually during pump operations
Troubleshoot issues related to overheating, plugs and blockages or quality of cement and aggregate mix
Unload, organize and layout tools and materials
Operate company vehicles and equipment according to operating manuals and legal requirements
Complete pre and post trip inspections and correct and report all defects immediately
Clean, lubricate and fuel truck, trailer and concrete pump
Care for and maintain company vehicles and equipment
Maintain a legal driver’s logbook and submit documentation bi-weekly
Practice proper, legal load securement
Participate in ongoing hazard assessments, daily toolbox meetings and complete safety documentation and paperwork as per company policy
Ensure safety fences, pylons or other safety markings are in place when required
Complete general site housekeeping duties
Maintain positive public image of the company with appropriate personal conduct and by operating company vehicles and equipment in a professional and courteous manner
Adhere to all company policies and procedures in relation to both safety and quality
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
6+ months of experience of CFA Concrete Pump experience
Experience troubleshooting site issues related to concrete pump operations
Mechanical aptitude
Alberta Class 5 (or higher) driver’s license, driving abstract that contains no more than 5 demerit points and 1 collision
CSTS 09 or CSTS 2020
